Soldiers shoot 14-year-old who threw firebomb at IDF position near Beit-El settlement; boy dies of wounds at Israeli hospital

A 14-year-old Palestinian was shot by infantry soldiers overnight Teusday after he threw a Molotov cocktails towards an IDF position near the West Bank settlement of Beit El. He was evacuated to an Israeli hospital, where he died of his wounds.

During the ensuing clashes between Palestinians and Israeli soldiers, five Palestinians were injured. Additional clashes erupted in the nearby village of Jilazoun.

Palestinian sources said the boy's father, a member of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades (Fatah's armed wing), was killed during the second intifada.

On Monday the Israeli Navy opened fire on fishermen from Gaza Strip, causing one boat to burst into flames, the army said. One Palestinian was injured in the incident.

A military spokeswoman confirmed the Navy opened fire at fishing boats after their crews ignored warning shots and orders to turn back. She said the Israeli navy helped put out the fire on the fishing boat, which carried 20 people.
