Olmert: Disengagement did not lead to rise in terrorism
Former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said that he does not accept claims that terrorism in Gaza increased after the disengagement.
"The State of Israel has no interest in being in daily friction with the population that is averse to our presence there. There were also the same claims made against pulling out of Lebanon. We proved that it is possible to create a fundamental change itn eh security situation without bringing about a change on the ground," said Olmert during his testimony before the state commission of inquiry for the treatment of the Gush Katif refugees.
