A couple's cantillation: Veal Yeda Avdecha

Varda and Udi Spielman – a cantor and a singer – perform three hymns for Ynet from Days of Awe prayers, with new melodies. Here is the last one

Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur are just around the corner. Millions of Jews are preparing to gather at synagogues across the world to pray during these days of self-examination and repentance.

Throughout the years, dozens of hymns and short prayers have joined the framework of the prayer, enriching the cycle and adding a sentimental and special aspect to the work within the heart.

Varda and Udi Spielman have performed three hymns for Ynet from the Days of Awe prayers. The songs, composed especially for them by Meir Finkelstein, will be included in an album of hymns from the Days of Awe which the couple plans to release next summer.

Varda Spielman is a former member of Israeli female pop group Sexsta. Udi Spielman, her husband, is the cantor of Bnai-Torah Congregation at Boca Raton, Florida.

On Thursday we brought you "Ohayala l'El", and this time the Speilmans end the project with "Veal Yeda Avdecha" (Haben Yakir Li). You are invited to listen and get into the spirit of the music. Shana Tova and may you be inscribed in the book of life!
