Twelve people sustained light wounds Saturday after being shot by the IDF during a funeral for three Islamic Jihad members, Palestinian sources in Gaza said.
The three Jihad gunmen were killed in an Air Force attack Friday evening while trying to fire rockets at Israel.
According to the Palestinian reports, clashes continued for a while as IDF troops deployed by the fence fired at Palestinians who hurled stones at them.
The IDF said that it fired in order to deter a group of Palestinians who approached the security fence in the northern Gaza Strip. Army officials said they were unaware of any injuries as result of the fire.
Saturday's funeral was led by Islamic Jihad leaders accompanied by gunmen. The funeral included calls for revenge against Israel. One of the men buried Saturday is the son of Islamic Jihad's Gaza Strip commander, who was killed by the IDF during the second Intifada.
