Deputy Prime Minister Silvan Shalom called on Turkey to wake up and said, "The deterioration of relations with Turkey over the past few days is uncalled for."
Before speaking at a Galilee conference in Kfar Blum Shalom said, "Turkey is an important and Muslim country with strategic ties with Israel. I hope the Turks wake up and realize that relations between the two countries are in their interest just as much as ours." (Hagai Einav and Roni Sofer)
