The Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Labor announced it will provide stipends for single mothers taking part in the work force.

The government plan includes returns for nannies, tutors, preschools and summer camps for the children.

The plan, first published by Yedioth Ahronoth, is currently aimed at around 60,000 single mothers and possesses a budget of over one million dollars a year.

Tzipi Shinkman, who heads the ministry's single parent department, says single moms could be eligible for over $5,000 and that 300 were already enjoying the plan's benefits.

She says every single mother who joins the work force and commits to working at least 22 hours a week is eligible for the benefits, as well as women who are already working and extend their weekly hours to 30 in total.

Those still in training as well as moms who set up a private business are also eligible.
