An extraordinary art exhibit is opening Wednesday at Givatayim's municipal art gallery. Some 60 artists designed their works on the backs of backgammon boards.
Among the artists presenting their works in the exhibit are Keren Shpilsher, Joshua Griffit, Yoel Gilinsky, Haya Graetz Ran, Hadas Levy, Mirit Cohen Caspi, and Karen Gillerman, daughter of former Ambassador to the UN Danny Gillerman.

The exhibit was first shown about a year ago in Washington DC's public library in honor of Israel's 60th anniversary.
The concept of the exhibit is reconciliation and peace and includes backgammon boards that have been transformed into pieces of art. Many of the artists included photographs and paintings of local leaders and motives connected to folk culture in the Middle East.
Other artists chose to deal with the Jewish perspective and the history and past of the Jewish people. The goal of each of the artists was to express the need to achieve peace for all the nations living in the Middle East.
According to the exhibit's curators and producers, backgammon symbolizes the desire to reach reconciliation and understanding between two opponents in that it provides an opportunity for a cultural and creative meeting as each side tries to move his pieces across the board
