Labor to oppose deportation of foreign workers' children
The Labor party has made a unanimous decision during a faction debate initiated by Minister for Minority Affairs Avishay Braverman to make efforts within the cabinet to grant citizenship to 1,200 children of foreign workers who were born in Israel and 600 of their parents.
The party also decided to support the government's decision to deport hundreds of thousands of foreign workers residing in Israel illegally. The four 'rebel' MKs backed the decision as well. (Yael Branovsky)
