The South African Chipstix brand is coming to Israel.
A Chipstix is a whole potato spiral cut on a skewer, deep fried and seasoned with a wide selection of flavored salts.
The brand is entering the Israeli market following an investment of NIS 500,000 (about $135,610), and its owners are currently negotiating the location of franchised stands across the country.
Chipstix stands include the rent of a potato design machine (NIS 300 a month), and the parent company is responsible for repairing and improving the equipment.
The brand also offers the spicing salts which arrive from the company's headquarters abroad with a kosher stamp of approval from the local South African rabbinate.
Chipstix is based on natural nutrients, fried in canola oil and can be sprinkled with one of 17 available flavored salts. It starting price will be NIS 15 ($4) per product.
