Obama tells Abbas committed to Palestinian state
US President Barack Obama phoned Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Friday and discussed with him the peace process. The official Palestinian news agency reported that during the phone call, Abbas presented to Obama the problems hindering the process, and the American president expressed his personal commitment to the establishment of a Palestinian state.
Abbas' spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh said it was "a very important conversation for the future of the peace process and the region." (Ynet)
