Shmuel Ben-Yishai, a 51-year-old resident of Kiryat Arba was indicted for incitement Monday.
The charges were filed with the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court, following a statement Ben-Yishai made during the eviction of Gilad Farm outpost near Hebron a year ago.
Reporters covering the event quoted him as saying: "Damn the Ishmael defense and police forces. Damn all security forces. We wish them to cower before their enemies, we wish for all of them to become Gilad Shalit, for all of them to be slaughtered. That's what they deserve.
"They are an army that protects Hamas and Palestine, an army that sacrifices Jewish blood for the sake of Palestine and that is what they deserve."
The indictment further claims that several days after the interview Ben-Yishai was interviewed by Arutz Sheva ("Channel 7"), an Israeli radio station affiliated with Religious Zionism, and said that his comments did no apply to the Israeli army as a whole – only the soldiers who participated in the eviction.
