Settler suspected of murdering 2 Arabs, assaulting Sternhell
Yaakov Teitel, a resident of the Shvut Rachel settlement north of Jerusalem was behind two murder cases and a series of explosive placements, including in the house of Prof. Ze'ev Sternhell, police and Shin Bet sources suspect.
It was released for publication on Sunday that Teitel, who has been in remand for several weeks is suspected of murdering two Arab individuals in 1997. Teitel arrived in Israel as a tourist from the US, committed the crimes and fled back. He returned to the country in 2000 and after being interrogated for a few incidents was released by police.
