Arab report: Israel prepares for 2nd stage in Shalit deal
London-based newspaper al-Sharq al-Awsat reported Tuesday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held intense consultations last week with ministers and Knesset faction heads as part of preparations towards the second stage of the deal to release captive soldier Gilad Shalit.
The newspaper was basing its report on Palestinian sources who further claimed that Netanyahu began the consultations upon the return of Hagai Hadas, who is in charge of contacts with Hamas, from Cairo. (Roee Nahmias)
