The Morocco government has condemned Israel's plan to build 900 housing units in the southern Jerusalem neighborhood of Gilo.
The Foreign Ministry in Rabat issued a statement saying that Morocco "reiterates that any Israeli construction in the West Bank, including in east Jerusalem, is illegal and illegitimate." Such moves, the statement said, "point to Israel's unwillingness to resume the talks for peace, which would lead to the establishment of a Palestinian state." (AFP)
