Bomb aimed at police defused in Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland security forces say they've have defused a roadside bomb planted to kill members of a passing police patrol.

 

Chief Superintendent Alasdair Robinson said Thursday that the device was discovered by the side of a road in Armagh late Wednesday. Robinson said he had "no doubt the aim was to kill police officers engaged in providing a community service in the area." (AP)
