Police solve murder of 67-year-old prostitute
Aziz Davidov, 45, confesses to have killed Annette Peretz at Tel Aviv escort agency while robbing her of NIS 1,000
The police have solved the murder of Annette Peretz, 67, of Kiryat Gat, at an escort agency in southern Tel Aviv eight months ago. Aziz Davidov, 45, of southern Israel, confessed to have killed the prostitute while robbing her of NIS 1,000 (about $263) and reenacted the crime.
The police initially believed that Peretz had died after falling down, but an autopsy revealed that she had been beaten to death. Before dying, Peretz scratched Davidov, who was located thanks to a DNA test.
Peretz's body was found in March at an escort agency near Tel Aviv's central bus station. Her children reported her missing to the Kiryat Gat Police, saying they feared for her life.
The woman's sons arrived at the Tel Aviv central bus station, where one person identified Peretz in a photo and led them to the escort agency, located on a building's ground floor. The two sons broke into the apartment and found their dead mother lying on the floor.
The police managed to get a DNA sample of the suspected murderer from Peretz's fingernails, as she had scratched him before dying. The police recently received the results of the DNA test and discovered that the suspect was a criminal known for drug and property offenses.
Davidov was arrested on Wednesday in a deserted house in southern Tel Aviv, and after being questioned he confessed and reenacted the murder.
According to the suspect, he arrived at the escort agency and Peretz thought he was there to rob her. A fight broke out, and according to Davidov, she hit him and he punched her in response. He then stole NIS 1,000 and escaped.
Peretz had six children she was supporting. She worked for decades in a one-room apartment near the old central bus station, where she was known as "Nicole".
