Israeli film 'Ajami' wins highest award at Thessaloniki festival

Israeli film "Ajami", by Scandar Copti and Yaron Shami, won the "Golden Alexander" at the International Film Festival of Thessaloniki on Sunday evening, with a prize of €40,000 (about $59,440).

 

The film describes the lives of two brothers in the mixed Jaffa neighborhood of Ajami. The movie also won a prize for the best script. (AFP and Merav Yudilovitch)
