Ivri Lider goes international

Israeli singer gets ready to release long-awaited collaboration with British musical producer, wins first place in international festivals for video clip

Israeli singer Ivri Lider is getting ready to release his new album sung entirely in English - the highly anticipated collaboration with British music producer Andy Green.

"Green and I have been working together for nearly a year," the singer said. "I liked his sound and what he does. The combination between us is good, and I enjoyed working with him."

Lider added that the album is currently being mixed, and one of its songs will be featured on Amnesty's Christmas compilation.

The video clip to his song "World Champion" (Aluf Olam in Hebrew) directed by Roi Werner won first place in two overseas festivals, one in Italy and the other in the New York film festival.

The video's concept was inspired by the film "Fight Club" and takes place in a dark underground parking lot with Werner and Lider starring in leading rolls.

"We are really pleased with the wins and I'm really proud of the video," Lider said.

He noted that the production was relatively low budget "and still it faired well in the world alongside other high-budget videos."

Werner noted, "The win shows that we know how to make quality videos in Israel. It's a shame they don't get the respect they deserve. There's no budget for video clips in Israel."

He further stated that he hoped more videos will be produced in Israel in the future, attracting more investment.
