The Children's Channel decided Sunday to suspend its star host Merav Feldman for a two-week period.

According to a source at the network, Feldman's suspension is in response to a provocative picture of hers that was published as part of an interview with Yedioth Ahronot magazine Sheva Leilot (Seven nights), in which she was lying in a bathtub filled with spaghetti.

"The network has strict regulations regarding the hosts," said the source, adding that "taking racy photos is not something you are allowed to do."

Sources close to Feldman were baffled by the suspension: "When Adi Himelbloy shoots a bathing suit catalog, that's acceptable?" said one source, adding that "the picture wasn't that provocative; the network is just flexing its muscles at the expense of Merav."

The Children's Channel said in response: "The Children's Channel is obliged to its audience and expects its hosts to represent it and act appropriately to their position. The article published during the weekend was not coordinated with the network and the picture is not suitable for kids; that's why the host was suspended."
