'England soccer team's captain had fling with Israeli model'

Week after previous captain John Terry dismissed over adultery, Daily Mail reports his replacement Rio Ferdinand spent stag week with Tslil Sela, just two weeks before his wedding

A week after John Terry, the captain of the national English soccer team was dismissed for having an affair with a teammate's partner, it turns out that his replacement, Rio Ferdinand of Manchester United, hasn't been faithful to his fiancé either.

According to the Daily Mail, two weeks before his wedding Ferdinand had a fling with 22-year-old Israeli model Tslil Sela during his stay in Tel Aviv last June.

The 31-year-old soccer player arrived in Israel for a week-long vacation last summer, where he had his stag week. His fiancé and son remained in Britain.

According to the Daily Mail, Ferdinand spent the week visiting numerous clubs, and during a visit to the Clara nightclub, he was seen 'dirty dancing' with Sela.

A witness told the paper: "They were dancing together, and it was 'hot' dancing, not the normal type. They were having a great time together. Afterwards, Tslil was very embarrassed and denied even being with Rio Ferdinand, even though everyone had seen her with him."

British tabloids were quick to publish the story, and have been courting Sela for a first-hand account of her time spent with Ferdinand. She said she was instructed by her agent, Roberto, not to discuss the affair and referred them to him.

'An immediate click'

According to the paper, Roberto demanded £20,000 (roughly $31,300) for an interview with the model. The agent insisted that the affair was "more than just a one-night stand."

He reportedly told the paper: "You know exactly what I'm offering. Something that will make big news in England. I know the story, and you know the story. It's the story of the girl, but you need to pay."

If Sela agrees to talk to the paper and confirms the report, the fresh captain will be in big trouble.

Sela's friend told the paper the model was "in shock" when she learned that Ferdinand was only two weeks away from marrying his fiancé.

Yedioth Ahronoth was the first to report of the two's meeting last summer. The two met at a party in Ashdod, and a witness at the event said, "It seemed like there was an immediate click."

According to sources close to Sela, the two met more than once. "She didn't know he was an almost-married man. Had she known this, she would have ended the relationship immediately. It seems he was able to hide it well."

Another source said: "She was really in love with him at the time. He made her many promises."

When approached by Yedioth Ahronoth, Sela referred the paper to her agent once again, who said on Saturday, "To the best of my knowledge, Sela never received money from Ferdinand. And I never demanded money for information. Everyone knows that the rate for an interview with Sela is £50,000 ($78,400) and not £20,000 ($31,300).
