Ahmadinejad condemns flotilla raid: Israel 'inhumane'

Iranian president slams Navy takeover of ships during aid sail to Gaza, says 'Zionist regime's conduct toward Palestinians is an insult to the dignity of all people'

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Monday that Israel's interception of aid ships sailing to the Gaza Strip, which left at least 10 people killed, was "inhuman," and shows Israel's weakness.

"The inhuman acts of the Zionist regime against Palestinians and preventing humanitarian aid to the Gaza people does not show the strength of the Zionist regime but shows its weakness," Ahmadinejad said during a meeting with the Indonesian parliament leader in Tehran.

"All these acts indicate the end of the heinous and fake regime and will bring it closer to the end of its existence," he said, adding that "today it is clear that the Palestinian issue is not only an Arab or Islamic matter, but an international question.

"The Muslims' and all of humanity's biggest responsibility is to support the oppressed Palestinian people and resolve the occupation of Palestine.

"The Zionist regime's conduct toward the Palestinians is an insult to the dignity of all people. The idea behind the establishment of the Zionist regime is clear to everyone. Its establishment was meant not only to control the Middle East, but the whole world. As such, supporting the Palestinian people is supporting all nations, peace and freedom" against the oppressing occupier," he added.

Ahmadinehad's senior advisoralso condemned the "attack of the Zionist military" on the humanitarian flotilla and said "the actions of the Zionist regime were in contradiction to all the basic human principles."

Iranian National Security Committee Chairman Alaeddin Boroujerdi noted that Israel's actions were "a declaration of war on the international community." According to Boroujerdi, "The military attack of ships carrying humanitarian aid is another example of the Zionist regime's barbarisms and violation of human rights, peace and freedom."

Boroujerdi urged the United Nation's Security Council to handle the "new crime of the Zionist regime."
