Aides: Pearlman called for Shin Bet interrogation
Three days after being released to house arrest, 'Jewish terrorist' reportedly summoned to Petah Tikva Police Station for questioning
"Jewish terrorist" Haim Pearlman, who was released to house arrest three days ago, was summoned by the Shin Bet for interrogation, sources close to the suspect said. The interrogation will take place at the Petah Tikva Police Station. The Shin Bet did not comment on the matter.
Pearlman's aides say the summons is the latest move in the Shin Bet's war against him. "The Shin Bet cannot admit that they made a mistake, and are continuing with their outrageous behavior," one aide said.
Pearlman was detained for 31 days on suspicion of murdering four Arabs, and was released to house arrest on Thursday.
Hours after his release from detention, police arrived at his parents' home in Tekoa, where he is now under house arrest, and handed him an order forbidding him from making any contact with rightists Noam Federman, Itamar Ben-Gvir and representative of the Honenu organization Ariel Groner for 45 days.
It was also made clear to Pearlman that if he violates this order, he will be arrested.
Pearlman, who is suspected of murdering four Arabs and attempting to kill another seven in the 1990s, said after his release from prison that the Shin Bet tried to humiliate him. "I was abused. They tied me to a chair, I suffered" he said.
But even during the celebrations for Pearlman's release, his family knew the story was far from over. "No one has deluded themselves, despite the joy, everyone knows that the Shin Bet will continue to persecute Haim," said one of his aides in Tekoa.
