Iran naval ships to cross Suez Canal on Monday

Two Iranian naval ships will sail through the Suez Canal from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean on Monday, a Suez Canal official said on Saturday.

The vessels will be the first Iranian naval ships to pass through the canal since Iran's 1979 revolution. Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said on Wednesday Iran's plan to send the ships through the canal en route to Syria was a "provocation". (Reuters)
