H&M to open store in Beersheba

Swedish fashion chain's first southern Israel branch to be inaugurated in Negev's capital in 2013

Swedish fashion chain H&M will be opening its first store in southern Israel in 2013, in the city of Beersheba.

The store will be located in a new shopping mall being built in the Negev region's capital, owned by the Ofer family's Melisron company and entrepreneur Eli Lahav.

Some NIS 700 million (about $200,000) have been invested in the new shopping center, which will stretch over 50,000 square meters (540,000 square feet).

The mall building, measuring 110,000 square meters (1,185,000 square feet) will include a commercial area of 40,000 square meters (430,000 square feet).

H&M has already opened stores in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa, Kfar Saba, Petah Tikva and Netanya.
