Report: Nearly 7,000 Syrian refugees in Turkey

The influx of Syrian refugees fleeing repression in their country has intensified over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of tents in villages located in southern Turkey to 6,817, the Anatolia news agency said Monday.

On Sunday, the semi-official news agency reported that the number of refugees in Turkey was 5,051. Hundreds of Syrians flocked to the border province of Hatay every day since early last week, fleeing the repression of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's troops. (AFP)
