KlezKanada (an arts institution that has been around for more than 15 years) has announced the lineup of artists for the second annual Montreal Jewish Music Festival.
Now in its second year, the festival features both traditional and contemporary Jewish music.
Some of the artists at this year’s festival – which began on August 28 and runs until September 1 – include Oscar-nominee Theodore Bikel (a singer, actor and musician who received critical acclaim for his role as Sheriff Max Muller in 1958’s The Defiant Ones), Grammy-winning trumpeter Frank London, Grammy nominee Andy Statman, The Sway Machinery, cantor Gideon Zelermeyer and New York’s Pitom.
The festival events are generally located in downtown Montreal (mainly on St. Laurent Blvd).
