Kosher, organic food distribution giant looking into buying Israeli food companies

VANCOUVER – Canadian kosher and organic food distribution company Foodfest is expanding and looking into buying Israeli food companies.

Foodfest hopes to raise funds for the acquisition from the public through its stock, which has started trading on the NASDAQ OTCBB under the symbol FDFT.

Foodfest was founded in 1977 by Henry Ender, its chief executive officer, and Fred Farnden, who serves as president and chief financial officer. Ender is married to Yael Soglowek-Ender, one of the owners of Israeli food company Soglowek.

The Canadian company exclusively represents a series of Israeli brands in North America, including Soglowek, Elite, the Wissotzky tea company, Of Tov chicken, Materna baby food, Carmit Candy Industries and Angel Bakeries.
