Report: PM's Office pays journalist NIS 50,000
Channel 10 reports financial arrangement between Prime Minister's Office and Israel Hayom journalist known as Netanyahu sympathizer
The Prime Minister's Office signed a financial agreement with Israel Hayom's ("Israel Today") writer Dror Idar, Channel 10 reported on Wednesday.
Idar is known to write favorable reports about Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's policy. The report exposed a document issued by the PM's Office, in which Netanyahu committed to paying Idar NIS 50,000 ($13,486).
The document also stated that Idar was hired for "speechwriting puposes." In his articles, Idar never mentioned the fact that he had a financial arrangement with the PM's Office.
Channel 10 added that Idar said he was not writing speeches for Netanyahu but for Vice Premier Moshe Ya'alon. He also confirmed that he had received several payments over the past few years.
Responding to the accusations, Idar said that he has no connection with the Prime Minister's Office or Netanyahu and that his contract is with Ya'alon's office.

The PM's office stated: "Dror Idar does not write speeches for the prime minister." Israel Hayom refused to commen on the report.
