Jethro Tull to heat up Israeli summer

British rock band to perform once more in Israel, as global tour dates include 3 September gigs in Jerusalem, Haifa, Raanana

British rock band Jethro Tull is no stranger to Israel, and in their upcoming global tour they promise to once again grace the Israeli stage.

According to the group's official website, Jethro Tull will perform at three locations across the country between September 6th-8th 2012.

They will first take the stage on September 6 at the Old Jerusalem Railway Station, then continue to Haifa's International Convention Center the following day and conclude their visit at Raanana's amphitheatre on September 8.

Ian Anderson, Jethro Tull's soloist and flutist since 1967, is due to appear in Israel after the band kicks off their six-month world tour in Australia. They are set to continue on to Europe and before heading to North America – the group will pop by sing their tunes once more.

In a 2006 interview with Ynet, prior to one of his previous visits to Israel, Anderson said: "I am not afraid to appear in Israel, although when I come to a place like Israel, I know it's not a picnic by the Thames. I am aware of the tension and it saddens me."

Jethro Tull will join other world-famous musicians who are set to preform in Israel this summer, including Guns N' Roses. The legendary American rock and roll band has signed off to perform in Israel on July 3rd in Hayarkon Park, Tel Aviv.

Madonna, Lady Gaga and the Red Hot Chili Peppers will arrive in the Holy Land next summer as well.
