Rufus Wainwright coming back to Israel

Three and a half years after his last visit, Canadian singer set to perform one show in Israel on June 3 at Havat Ronit

Just three and a half years after his last visit, singer and musician Rufus Wainwright is set to perform in Israel on June 3 at Havat Ronit near Kfar Shmaryahu. The person behind Wainwright's return to the Holy Land is veteran producer Shuki Weiss. Ticket prices start at NIS 190 ($51).

Wainwright's performance is not the only event planned for the evening's artistic lineup: The production company is planning a party which they hope will continue into the early hours of the following morning. A lineup will be released soon.

Access to the party area will be available to those who purchase the VIP package which will include a fast pass – no waiting in lines or waiting for security, a closed off VIP area and tickets to the party which will include DJs and other surprise guests.

Wainwright, a Canadian by birth, is the son of folk singers Loudon Wainwright and Kate McGarrigle (who performed with him in Israel) and is the brother of singer Martha Wainwright. Wainwright will be coming to Israel on the heels of the release of his 11th album, Out of the Game, which will be available at the end of the month.

The latest album is produced by Mark Ronson, who also visited Israel a number of times in recent years and who was credited with a major part in the success of the late Amy Winehouse.
