The Walkmen
The Walkmen to perform in Israel
American indie rock band The Walkmen will perform at Tel Aviv's Barby club on August 14
American indie rock band The Walkmen will be visiting the Holy Land next month for one concert at Tel Aviv's Barby club on August 14. Tickets are sold for NIS 189 ($48).
The Walkmen formed in 2000 and became one of the most talked about bands on New York's underground music scene. They will be coming to Israel as part of their world tour for their new album "Heaven" which came out last May.

Ynet's in-house music critic Guy Hajaj recently discussed the band's latest album, saying: "I don't know why The Walkmen don't enjoy the massive success of other rock bands that came on to the scene at the same time and place like The Strokes or the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
"The New York group is launching a moving album even when its indie rock neighbors are disappointing. The new album Heaven is a continuation: Hamilton Leithauser's voice and the electrical guitar and organ ensemble just hit you in the stomach."
