The application was modeled on the printed edition's format and offers its readership an innovative groundbreaking user experience in terms of Israeli press.
The new application incorporates the printed edition's professional and meticulous presentation with a host of new interactive features for a richer reading experience.
Along with the printed edition's regular stories and columns, the new application brings readers content from the paper's online edition, as well as video articles, interactive charts, ongoing current affairs updates and customized stock exchange data, created exclusively for the digital edition.
Calcalist's new iPad application is published every morning simultaneously with the printed edition, and just like its printed counterpart it is published with Calcalist's weekly supplement every Thursday.
Calcalist publisher Yoel Esteron said in the inauguration of the application at the Mobile 2013 conference that the iPad brings together the traditional and time-honored values of journalism with the spectacular features of tablet graphic interfaces.
Esteron further stressed that Calcalist's iPad edition is proof that in the digital world as well, journalism has a wonderful future.
Esteron also took the opportunity to thank Calcalist's creative team: Amir Ziv, Avner Haberfeld, Noam Tamari, Alon Rise, Elad Tavor and Hagit Antebi, who led the characterization, development and design of the Calcalist iPad application; the development team at YIT – Yedioth Ahronoth's technology division headed by Assaf Avrahami; head of Development at YIT, Einat Rabin; project leader Hadar Gil-Roy; development team leader Ziv Nitzan; head of print-digital integration Tali Green; and mobile developer Artyom Atriaskin.
