Rahat woman who killed 3 of her children indicted
Prosecution files indictment against Rahat mother Ikhlas Alarjan suspected of stabbing three of her children to death with axe, attempting to kill fourth daughter; 'I don't want you to live in dirty world,' she told her children
The indictment was filed with the Beersheba District Court against Ikhlas Alarjan, 26, who stabbed her three children: Mouheiman, 8, Mariam, 4, and two-month old Dalal, to death with an axe. The fourth child, a three-year-old girl, survived the attack, sustaining light injuries.

Following the attack, police examined the mother’s mental state at the time of the killings, finding her fit to stand trial.
The prosecution said it did not yet know why the mother decided to murder her four children.

The indictment describes the mother's chilling killing spree, saying that it started one morning in September as her husband left for work and Alarjan remained at home with her four children who were sleeping in their beds.
At one point, Alarjan pulled a knife used for slaughtering sheep out of the kitchen drawer and approached her son's bed. She gave him a kiss and when he woke up, he asked his mother what she wanted from him. The mother did not answer but bludgeoned the boy with the knife.
'I don't want you to live in this dirty world'
When the boy began begging for his life, she covered his face with a pillow and silenced him. He then got up from the bed and asked his mother to shower and go to school, but Alarjan said she did not want him to do so. She told him she did not want him to "live in this dirty world" and then continued to bludgeon him with the axe.
After killing her son, the mother then approached her sleeping four-year-old daughter. She woke her from her sleep and ordered her to cover her head with a plastic bag. Alarjan then beat her to death with the axe.
Alarjan then took a shower and changed her clothes. She approached her three-year-old and began to beat her as well. The girl bled and fainted in her bed. When she woke up, she began screaming and the mother ordered her to stay in bed. She was the only child to have survived the attack.
The mother then approached her youngest child, a two-month-old boy, and breastfed him before strangling him to death.
Alarjan then tried to take her own life by hanging herself, but did not succeed in doing so. She then tried to cut her wrists and neck, but continued to fail in her attempts.
The mother then left the house and asked her brother-in-law for a phone in order to call the health clinic. By the time he noticed the blood, the mother was sitting outside her house, holding her wounded daughter.
Several relatives then called the police and Magen David Adom emergency services to the scene.
The State Prosecutor's Office asked that the court extend the remand of the mother until legal proceedings against her are completed.
