Thai opposition party says quitting Parliament

Published: 12.08.13, 12:15 / Israel News

A spokesman for Thailand's main opposition party says his party is resigning all its members from Parliament.  Democrat Party spokesman Chavanond Intarakomalyasut said that his party could not work in the legislature anymore because it is "no longer accepted by the people."

The minority Democrats are aligned with anti-government protesters who have staged the country's biggest rallies in years. At least five people have been killed and at least 289 injured since the protests began last month. The move is sure to deepen the crisis. (AP)
