According to The Wrap, Jack Black will be featured in the role of Mr. Shivers, an author whose gruesome fictional characters come to life and force him into hiding.

Playing his mysterious niece will be 16-year-old Rush, who will team up with the next door neighbor in order to defeat the creepy monsters that Mr. Shivers has released.
