US criticizes UNRWA for passing rockets to Hamas members
The American government criticized the UN agency UNRWA for passing on 20 rockets found in one of their schools in Gaza to local police, which are Hamas members.
The deputy spokesperson at the US State Department Mary Harf said that, "We're working with UNRWA to prevent such incidents in the future. We know that Hamas is using schools and hospitals to attack Israel." Harf stressed that despite the event, UNRWA facilities remain illegitimate targets for Israeli attacks. "UNRWA is a humanitarian organization acting in difficult circumstances especially in Gaza," she said.
