An 80-year-old man lost control of his car and hit Café Tachtit on Lincoln Street in Tel Aviv on Tuesday afternoon. A man was moderately injured and three suffered light injuries. Magen David Adom paramedics that were rushed to the scene evacuated the injured to the Souraski Medical Center in the city.
An eyewitness who was at scene said: "We were sitting next to a support pole when we suddenly heard breaks squealing. I turned around, and saw a car driving next to me, tossing tables into the air. The elderly driver seemed confused…chairs were flying everywhere. After we called MDA, they came fairly quickly and evacuated several people, one on a stretcher. It was scary."
MDA paramedic Adi Zilberstein said that when the medical team arrived at the scene, they "saw a vehicle on the sidewalk in the middle of the café. People told us that the driver was apparently attempting to park his car when he drove onto the sidewalk."
"A 40-year-old man who suffered a chest injury was lying on the ground, next to the car", Zilberstien further said. "We gave him medical care and evacuated him to the Souraski Medical Center. Three others sustained minor injuries. We treated them on the scene and transported them to the hospital as well."
