'Shake it Off' for Hanukkah
Jewish a cappella group Six13 does a pretty great job transforming Taylor Swift's smash hit to a song about latkes and dreidels.
Taylor Swift's smash hit "Shake it Off" has had its fair share of parodies, mashups and the like, including one that merges the song with Kendrick Lamar's "Backstreet Freestyle."
Now, in honor of Hanukkah, Jewish a cappella group Six13 has launched its own version of the hit single.
Simply dubbed "Chanukah (Shake It Off)," the song provided topical jokes, references to the origins of the holiday and other Jewish-centric quibbles.
It's actually rather informative, with lessons about dreidels (they explain, in length, how to play the game), latkes, why the oil burns for eight nights, and it's also quite entertaining – thanks to the group's multiple costume changes.
It doesn't hurt that they're actually pretty good at singing too.
