VIDEO: Americans try out Israeli snacks

BuzzFeed video shows average Americans nosh on Israelis' favorite treats, including Bamba, Crembo and Milky.

We're all well aware by now of BuzzFeed's affinity for intermingling culture and religion, particularly concerning Jews and Israelis. Thus far, we've seen Jews decorate Christmas trees and awkwardly explain Christmas, and of course, Christians explain Hanukkah.

We've also seen non-Jews trying Ashkenazi food.

With their latest "Americans try Israeli snacks," BuzzFeed presents a look at how average Americans respond to what we ate growing up in Bat Yam and Rehovot, providing Israelis with a wonderful nod to some of their favorite delectable items, from Bamba to Bisli to Milky, the best pudding you will literally ever have.

They also try Pesek Zman and Crembo (chocolate with cream filling).

It's all rather nostalgic for Jews in the Diaspora who have been to the Holy Land, giving us a chance to remember with fondness that time we ate Crembo Mochas during Birthright.

I will admit, though, that many of the items the participants try in this video are impossible to resist – delicious chocolate pudding topped with whipped cream, addictive falafel-flavored snacks, chocolate with crackling pops, etc.

Also, as to be expected, the fact that Bamba is basically a peanut butter Cheeto was brought up, but it's not fair to critique that stuff without having it on the beach in Tel Aviv with a little bit of vodka, XL (a cheaper Red Bull), some nargila and matkot.
