Report: US and Iran to announce nuclear agreement framework by end of March
The London-based Arab newspaper Al Hayat on Thursday quoted a diplomatic official in the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna as saying that the United States and Iran have reached an understanding regarding most issues in negotiations on Iran's nuclear program. The source added that the two parties intend to announce the general framework by the end of March.
The source claimed that the US and Iran agreed on a redesign of the heavy water reactor in Arak so that it cannot produce plutonium to build a nuclear bomb. Meanwhile, Tehran agreed to dismantle its stores of highly enriched uranium at the Fordow reactor.
