Omri Casspi apologizes to girl he crashed into with 'Frozen' doll

Israeli-born Sacramento Kings offers young girl a special gift after tumbling into her during NBA game. 'Had to make sure she’s not mad at me,' he says.

One of the luxuries of sitting courtside at an NBA game is the chance that one of the basketball league's finest will come tumbling into you, usually due to a hard foul on the opposing team.

Sure, it might be a minute or two of discomfort, and you may want to wash off the inevitable beads of sweat that landed on you, but think of what a great story you could have at cocktail parties.

"I'm telling you, Lebron James crashed right into me! He CHOSE me!"

But if you're a young girl who likely knows little about the sport, the incident certainly seems way less appealing.

That's why after Israeli NBA star for the Sacramento Kings, Omri Casspi, crashed into a young girl sitting courtside beside her parents, he felt pretty awful about it.

The event took place on Sunday during a home game against the Washington Wizards, when the team's Paul Pierce pushed Casspi, who inadvertently fell into the crowd, and subsequently, the young girl, who immediately burst into tears.

Refs gave Pierce a flagrant foul for the shove, and the Wizards lost by 23 points to the Kings. But Casspi, being the mensch that he is, later showed up at the family's house to offer her an apology, and a gift: A doll from the highly popular animated musical, "Frozen."

"Had to make sure she’s not mad at me after I crashed at her during the game… and what’s a better gift than princess Elsa and Ulaf from #Frozen," Casspi posted on his Facebook page Tuesday, accompanied by a photo of him and the girl.

Meanwhile, Casspi has been having a pretty solid season this year, one of his finest since joining the NBA as Israel's first professional basketball player back in 2009.
