Nasrallah: I have no health problem

Hezbollah commander appears on television denying rumors that he faces health complications.

The leader of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah spoke Saturday night on his organization's television station Al-Manar, denying rumors of his failing health or that he had undergone an operation.

"All the rumors about me are wrong," said Nasrallah. "I have no health problem and I don't require any medicine."

According to the claims that spread on social media recently, Nasrallah was admitted to a hospital in one of Beirut's southern neighborhoods after suffering medical complications in the form of a stroke or heart attack.

Nasrallah's television appearance on Saturday was seemingly meant to disprove the rumors, but the Hezbollah leader spent most of his time slot addressing the fighting in Syria where Hezbollah is helping President Bashar Assad combat rebels from a multitude of different groups.

His television speech was originally planned for several days from now to mark the anniversary of the IDF's withrawal from southern Lebanon, but was pushed to Saturday evening with no explanation.

"Don't listen to all the rumors about my health," said Nasrallah. "My life is in the hands of Allah but I have no health problem and I don't require any medicine."

Earlier this week, Nasrallah's son Jawad denied that his father was facing health complications. The recent rumors are not the first time claims have arisen that the leader was in poor health.
