Hail in Ashdod, heavy rains in Tel Aviv
Winter weather returns with a bang: Sizeable hail falls in Ashdod and rain spreads across the center, expected to intesify overnight.
The forecast was right this time around, as a storm set in on Monday morning throughout Israel. Residents in Ashdod reported heavy hail storms, while central Israel was doused with rain.
Meteo-tech meteorologists said that thunderstorms were expected throughout the country, with strong winds and heavy rains. Flood warnings were issued for southern and eastern Israel. Temperatures are set to drop as well.
Rains and thunderstorms are expected to wash most of Israel on Tuesday as well, and flood warnings have already been issued for the eastern and southern river basins, as well as the coastal plain.
Temperatures will continue to drop into Tuesday night. The temperatures are set to begin rising on Wednesday, as well as Thursday. However, light rains are still expected.
