Trump says he will stand '100% with Israel'

Speaking at a Christian university, Republican frontrunner Donald Trump says 'Obama was the worst thing that's ever happened to Israel,' citing Iran deal as example.

The Republican frontrunner, Donald Trump, said on on Wednesday that US President Barack Obama was the "worst thing that's ever happened to Israel," slamming the nuclear deal signed with Iran and vowing that he would stand with Israel "100 percent" when he becomes president.

Speaking at an event at Regent University, a private Christian research university in Virginia, Trump said, "Obama was the worst thing that's ever happened to Israel. You can look at it as he's not a good president or he's not doing a good job."

Regarding the Iran nuclear deal, which lifted international sanctions on Iran despite Israel's protest, Trump said, "Why did we make a deal like this with these people? And they look at us like they have no respect for us whatsoever. They can't believe themselves that they were able to get this deal."

Trump also expressed his confusion of why Obama would agree to such a deal: "There are a lot of theories out there, but I don't get it. This will lead to nuclear proliferation 100 percent."

Trump has previously expressed criticism of Israel on a variety of occasions and recently told MSNBC that he would be "a neutral guy" when it comes to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but when asked if he will stand with Israel on Wednesday, he said, "I am 100% percent with Israel."

Meanwhile, one of his opponents, Marco Rubio, criticized Trump at a Houston rally for saying he would be neutral on the Mideast conflict: "The front-runner in this race, Donald Trump, has said he's not going to take sides on Israel versus the Palestinians because he wants to be an honest broker."

Rubio said there was no such thing "because the Palestinian Authority, which has strong links to terror, they teach little kids, 5-year-olds, that it's a glorious thing to kill Jews."
