The burning car
A witness in a high-profile trial against a well-known criminal was murdered in a car bomb in northern Tel Aviv on Sunday morning.
The man, about 40 years old, was evacuated to the Ichilov hospital at the Sourasky Medical Center in Tel Aviv in critical condition where he succumbed to his wounds shortly thereafter.
Police determined the bombing was criminally motivated as the victim served as a witness against members of a crime organization.

Two months ago, an explosive went off in the car of criminal Ben Cohen on the Givatayim-Tel Aviv border, seriously wounding him and another person. Cohen lost both of his legs in the explosion.
Police estimated at the time that the attempt on Cohen's life will respark the war between criminals in the area.
A month before that, criminal Baruch Bokal and brothers Gabi and Baruch Falah, who are known to police, were wounded in a car bomb in western Rishon Lezion. Bokal has survived past assassination attempts as well.
