Louis CK to perform in Israel

The comedian told Howard Stern of his intention to perform here: ‘I’m going to Israel, and I’m doing a show in, like, a soccer stadium or something there.’

Is the stand-up comedian Louis CK heading for Israel? If what was said on Monday during an interview with radio presenter Howard Stern is anything to go by, then it looks likely.

CK was hosted by Stern for an hour-long interview in which the two discussed a variety of topics, including the commedian's recent comparisons of Donald Trump to Hitler on Twitter, CK's residence in Spain, his immigration to the US at age 6, and his decision to enroll in higher education.

However, Israeli fans will have been most interested to hear CK state his intention to travel to Israel.

“I’m going to Israel, and I’m doing a show in, like, a soccer stadium or something there, and I’ll get a lot of money there,” to which Stern replied, “Millions. Yeah, the Jews have money.” CK joked, “I’ll play anywhere doing my act for money."

CK is considered one of the most popular and distinguished stand-up comedians in the US today. Alongside his recognition as a pioneer of comedy, he also produces, writes, directs and stars in the acclaimed television series, Louie.

The show, first aired in 2010, is widely considered revolutionary in the world of sitcoms. CK has been nominated for multiple awards for it, including the award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series at the 64th and 66th Primetime Emmy Awards.
