One man's trash: Alt band Garbage to perform in Israel

Considered one of the most iconic groups to come out of the 90s, the Scottish-American band joins a slew of other international performers coming to Israel this summer; the band will be promoting its new album, 'Strange Little Birds'

I'm only happy when in pain: Garbage, the aggressively maudlin band whose songs scorched 90s radio stations is due to give a performance this August. The group is one of several big musical acts on its way to perform in Israel this summer.

Band members include lead singer Shirley Manson, whose rough public persona greatly contributed to the band's edginess and even feminist take on alternative rock music. It also includes drummer Butch Vig, who has produced the albums of other acts including Nirvana's album "Nervermind," Sonic Youth, Greenday and Foo Fighters.

Garbage's show will be part of a world tour promoting their newest album, "Strange Little Birds." This will be the band's second time in Israel, having performed once before in 1999.
