MK Hazan hospitalized, operated on

The 34-year-old Knesset member came to Rabin Medical Center on Friday and was operated on after being diagnosed with internal bleeding; he is not considered to be in medical danger currently.

MK Oren Hazan of the Likud party was hospitalized in Petah Tikva's Rabin Medical Center on Friday night, after arriving of his own accord. After being examined, he was found to be bleeding internally. He was then operated on. Hazan is now in stable condition and is not thought to be in any medical danger.

The MK's office stated, "During the operation, it was discovered that a vein in (MK Hazan's) body had detached and created a large blood leak."

Hazan's father, former Likud MK Yehiel Hazan, said that his son arrived to the hospital suffering intense stomach pains and was operated on for about two hours. "Something exploded in his stomach, probably a vein, and this may be the result of strain and hard work," he said.

Hazan's office further stated, "(MK Hazan) has recovered from the operation and is fully conscious, the operation was a success. MK Hazan gives thanks to those who gave thought to his condition. He will stay in (Rabin Medical Center) for observation for a few days."

Due to his hospitalization, Hazan will not participate in an MK delegation to South America as he was scheduled to do.
