Driver drives on sidewalk to avoid traffic
WATCH: a driver in the city of Bnei Brak was caught on film driving on the sidewalk, in an apparent attempt to avoid traffic; after endangering passersby, the driver was stopped and explained, 'It was an emergency.'
A Bnei Brak driver decided to go his own way by driving on the sidewalk, putting pedestrians at risk. He activated a siren as he drove down the sidewalk, eventually reconnecting to another road and driving away.
Unfortunately for him, his shenanigans were caught on video by another driver.

After receiving the video, the police opened an investigation, tracked down the reckless driver and brought him in for questioning.
The driver in action
The driver is a 30-year-old man residing in Beni Brak. He claimed that his car is considered an emergency vehicle and that he reverted to the sidewalk on his way to an emergency. The police, however, did not find his claim to be valid.
The suspect was released following the investigation, and an indictment against him for putting bystanders at risk is pending.
