The victims were evacuated to a hospital in the area in light condition and none were reported to be in life-threatening danger. The Israeli ambassador in Kathmandu Roni Abramson and medical teams from the Israeli consulate arrived at the scene to assist the injured.
Chabad Emissary to Nepal Rabbi Chezky Lifshitzi also landed at the scene in a helicopter to provide assistance.
This is the second serious incident to have befallen Israeli travellers in just days in the same area, with the crash coinciding with an ongoing search for Amit Reichman, a 42-year-old Israeli who went missing in the Annapurna Massif on Sunday October 16.
Reichman, who was supposed to return to Israel at the beginning of the week, is believed to have veered off the original course during his hike in the 8,000-metre peaks and was subsequently unable to establish contact with anyone.
Over the last 48 hours, soldiers from the Nepal military have joined the search being conducted by the international search and rescue organization, Magnus. Drones are also being employed to scour the giant land mass from above in the effort to locate the Israeli philosopher and engineer.
The Israeli Embassy in Nepal and the local Chabad house in Kathmandu begun questioning Israelis and other hikers who might have run into Reichman over the last few days.
According to initial reports, he had reached a lookout point on the massif on the aforementioned date where he left some of his climbing equipment which he never returned to collect.
